Your Challenge: Build the Worst User Flow Ever

Create the most hilariously terrible user flow you can imagine. The challenge is open-ended - you can build any flow you want, as long as it's technically completable. For example, you could create an unsubscribe flow that requires 47 confirmation steps, makes you solve a captcha between each step, and sends you back to the beginning if you make a single mistake. Or create a checkout process that hides the "Complete Purchase" button until you've clicked through 20 unnecessary pages. The key is: make it terrible, but make it possible to complete. The worse the UX, the better your chances of winning!

Requirements

  • Must be a functional prototype
  • The flow must be technically completable from start to finish
  • The worse the UX, the better your chances of winning
  • Must be presentable in 3 minutes
  • Open-ended - any user flow is acceptable (unsubscribe, checkout, signup, etc.)

Inspiration & Ideas

📧 Unsubscribe flow: 47 confirmation steps, captchas between each
🛒 Checkout process: hide buttons, add unnecessary pages
🚨 Excessive security prompts for simple actions
🎨 Aggressive color schemes that hurt to look at
📱 Buttons that move when you try to click them
⏱️ Unnecessary loading screens and delays
📝 Forms that require re-entering all info on any error
🔔 Notification spam for every little thing
🎵 Autoplay sounds or music
❌ Confusing error messages
🔄 Infinite loops that send you back to the beginning
🎯 Hidden or disappearing UI elements
